David’s Bio

My name is David Youhas. Looking back I have been involved with entertainment since an early age. Fascinated with Magic I joined the local Danville MASAM affiliation. I was blessed to see some authentic Vaudeville greats like Mr. Magic, Lionel Martel and the amazing Shag Shadley and his incredible endless coin fountains. As a child I was given the keys to behind the scenes and secrets to magic. It was an amazing time in my life.

I set up magic shows in the area to get practice and show off new tricks. When I was around 7 years old, my mother would drop me and my rabbits off at the front door to area senior citizens homes. I would volunteer about a 45 minute show. When I was done I would call mom to pick me up. Looking back on that now, reminds me of how self conscious and critical of myself I can be. I did not want her to watch me or anyone that knew me for that matter. I did not want to make mistakes. In front of a crowd of total strangers, however, I felt totally free to be and express myself fully. Although shy as a child, I performed and have professionally spoken to an audience over 3000 in attendance.

My DJ career all began in 1985 and became a 25 year professional experience. I found my love for music in Champaign Illinois at Bradleys night club mesmerized by DJ Carlos who would spin records and beat mix. I was fascinated and often would just hang out above his booth and watch him for hours.

My first DJ opportunity appeared when a local teen dance came to town. I had accumulated all the hot dance music not heard around here. After the first night I went up to the DJ and asked if it would be ok to bring some music the following week. He said sure! I went to Radio Shack and purchased my first mixer, borrowed some cassette players and pre-rocorded the entire evening pre mixed. The following week the DJ pushed play and the dance floor was packed all night long. D102 DJ Bill Lacombe asked me “so what are you doing next week, we need a dj” and I said yes. Schools rapidly began calling to book me. The rest is history.

I started out doing any and all events. School dances, Bah Mitzvahs, Birthdays, class reunions, family reunions, company parties, corporate events, weddings and even High School State Championships at the University of Illinois. My true passion became weddings and that became my focus for the last 15 years.

After college I began singing. I entered area talent contest and after a few years took first place for the city while singing “one in a million you” by Lou Grahm. Taking second place was a cute 5 year old in a puppy outfit. Later I pursued acting and performed in several Danville Light Opera musicals. My favorites were: 7 brides for 7 brothers, Singing in the rain, Funny thing happened on the way to the forum, The Music man. I played the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors. I became a wedding singer and met my wife at the time while singing at a wedding.

One of my core values is giving back. Over the last 10 years I have concentrated on giving back through donating my time, services, resources and mentoring. We have helped out with: Susan G Komen – Race for the Cure, Special Olympics of Illinois, Habitat for Humanities, Kiwanis, American Diabetes Association, Help Portrait and the American Cancer Society participating in their continued cancer prevention study and survey.

I learned many valuable lessons with phenomenal early success that stick with me to this day. Practice your skill, be passionate about what you do, care about who you are serving, work doesn’t feel like work when you enjoy what you do, practice and being prepared gets awesome results in life. This level of care shows up in the confidence and trust from our satisfied customers.

My goals and passions have become clearly defined in the last few years. After loosing over 100 pounds I ran in and finished 6 Marathons. I ran the Chicago Marathon twice. Champaign Illinois Marathon twice. Sacramento California Marathon and the Columbus Ohio Marathon. My best time was in Chicago with a 3:57:30 for the 26.2 mile run.

It is my desire to be a professional speaker. My goals and passions are speaking, motivation, coaching, NLP, writing books, traveling, financial peace, acoustic guitar, photography, learning Spanish and acquiring my PHD in Psychology.

I am a C.P.C. Performance Coach also known as a Life Coach or Transformation Coach and a NLP practitioner. I am a graduate and received my certification through Resource Realization. I am working toward my N.L.P. Master Practitioner Certification. I am also a graduate of Landmark Education Forum and Advanced classes.

My personality is expressive and amiable. My love language is quality time. I am sensitive, courageous and a loving man! ( :
